DUE TO BAD WEATHER THE FOUNTAIN INN PARADE
HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 14, 2011
Fountain Inn prepares for a week filled with excitement and Christmas Spirit. The Spirit Of Christmas Past comes alive in downtown Fountain Inn during the next couple of weeks. Proclaiming itself as the “Inn Place To Be”, Fountain Inn opens it’s doors to all it’s friends and neighbors across the upstate.
Wednesday, December 7th, at 5 p.m. the annual parade will begin it’s journey down Fountain Inn’s Main Street. The streets will be filled with excited children and adults as they come to enjoy the local talent including high school marching bands, dance troupes, martial artists, and specialty groups in addition to colorful floats.
After the parade head over to the Fountain Inn Farmer’s Market Pavilion to the out door ice skating rink. Here is this year’s schedule at the ice skating rink:
December 7th after the parade
December 8th – 11th from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
December 15th – 23rd from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
December 26th – 30th from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
What has proven to be one of the most exciting parts of the Spirit Of Christmas Past is the horse drawn carriage rides around town. Horse drawn carriages are brought up from Charleston and offer carriage rides around town, down Fountain Inn’s Main Street and this year through Inn Circle, a popular city subdivision.
Lanterns, luminaries, Percheron Draft Horses touring guests by carriage on a one mile route of beautifully decorated homes for the holiday’s. One quarter of a mile along the route, Harper and Caroline’s home is a vision of Whoville. You might see Cindy-Lou, but can you find the Grinch? He’s in the neighborhood….you’ll have to search really hard. When it comes down to it, guests to Fountain Inn will see that the Grinch hasn’t stolen the the Spirit of Christmas from Fountain Inn!
Carriage rides will run December 8-11 and 15-18 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
The spirit of Christmas is not lost in the small town flair. Fountain Inn goes above and beyond to celebrate The Spirit of Christmas Past. A two week event that is sure to bring joy to the season and fun to the family. Come out Wednesday, enjoy the parade and make plans to skate on the ice and then chose an evening to take a carriage ride around this beautiful town.
Fountain Inn is a great place to live and is proving itself as the “Inn Place To Be“.
Only minutes from Greenville, close to shopping and easy access to interstates to take you in any direction around the state, Fountain Inn is no doubt the Tip of the Golden Strip.
